From passion to performance,
career insight that works
The ISTS (Interests Survey for Tasks and Sectors) maps out both an employee's interests and the tasks and sectors that correspond to these interests.
The ISTS is ideal for career advice and for identifying career issues.
The report consists of three levels:
- The Holland Model complemented with IT
The scientifically substantiated Holland Model forms the basis for the ISTS.
For professions in IT, Ixly has added a new factor: interest in IT.
- Sectors
In addition to mapping out a person's interests, the ISTS reports on the forty sectors that correspond with these areas of interest.
This means the ISTS will quickly provide insight into potentially suitable professions.
- Tasks
Lastly, the survey provides insight into the types of tasks that match a person's interests: a career choice can also be determined by identifying a person's preferences for specific tasks that correspond with certain jobs. The ISTS distinguishes between the following tasks:
- Social tasks
Assisting, resolving conflicts, persuading people, motivating others, offering advice, maintaining relationships, guiding people, helping customers, negotiating, teaching courses or training sessions. - Mental tasks
Being creative, reading, writing, strategic thinking, analysing, calculating, planning, organising, gathering information. - Support tasks
Planning activities, managing assets and objects, making schedules, performing administrative tasks, setting up projects. - Motor tasks
Working with one's hands, operating large machinery, operating vehicles, repairing things, working with electronic equipment, working with computers, physical exertion, repairing electronic equipment.
